3. 在表示转折和让步关系的英语复合句中，表转折和让步的从句的位置较为灵活；而汉语中往往将表转折和让步的从句放在主句之前。
例3 They were strange shoulders, still powerful although very old, and the neck was still strong too and the creases did not show so much when the old man was asleep and his head fallen forward.
